More dark phantastic than pure Horror, very human, believable, complex figures and interesting relationships.
Farrenkopf first writes about humans, second about phantastic action. Nevertheless, the Worldbuilding is immensely interesting here!

A Horror Story Collection with lots of (partly dystopian) Climate fiction as a subgenre.
That's exactly the kind of horror I want to read: believable humans, human relationships and feelings.
There's a lot of subtle humor and suspense in the stories as well!

Kosawa ist ein afrikanisches Dorf, in dem die Firma Pexton Öl gewinnt und die Pipelines eher nachlässig sicher.
Nach und nach wird der Boden und das Wasser vergiftet. Menschen, vor allem Kinder, werden krank und sterben.
Ein jahrzehntelanger Weg des Protests beginnt, mal friedlich, mal weniger friedlich, und ich darf beobachten, wie der protagonistische Körper (1. Person Plural, eine Generation der Kinder, die dort aufwächst und deren Zahl immer weiter schrumpft) damit umgeht und lebt.

On its surface, "Flipped" is about love, romance and alternate universes.
More subtly, though, it's about being yourself, staying yourself and protecting yourself against odds: and may they be dauntingly attractive and charming.

A Better World deals with a not-so-far-away future in which many parts of the earth causes diseases and unemployment is high.
Also, research is not chared worldwide any more (the opposite of open science and open access).
The family of the main figure gets the chance to work live in a garded community where the air is still clean - but what's the price for that?
